Japan Service Areas - danny choo

danny has posted something about travelling around Japan during the golden week, one of the longest holidays in Japan, and some of the people mostly living in Tokyo give their time for the week in by going to their ancestral homes or just book a vacation in some vacation hotspots around the country or some go to other countries such as here in the Philippines.

currently most Japanese take paid time off on the intervening work days, but some companies also close down completely and give their employees time off. Golden Week is the longest vacation period of the year for many Japanese jobs. Two other holidays may also be observed for most or all of a week: Oshōgatsu in January and Obon in August. Golden Week is an extremely popular time to travel. Flights, trains, and hotels are often fully booked despite significantly higher rates at this time.

here is from the local scene in Japan where there are service areas which offer complete services similar to our gasoline stations with mini grocery and some free items for travelling folks..

a very large food service area which I can consider a foodcourt in philippine standards.

They offer free drinks in stations especially tea.

A route and directional aid for motorists wow!

A warning that indicates those that are caught drinking under the influence of alcohol shall be fined or at the same time sent to jail.

Japan is quite strict in their road policies and drunk driving is a very serious offense. a 5 year imprisonment or a 1,000,000 yen fine is subjected for violators, seems pretty much they are very disciplined drivers in japan.

The gas stations in Japan also have service attendants, similar to ours
